PEX POLIDAN® is in form of pellets and can be processed with modern PE single screw  extruders having a proper thermoregulation and a good mixing screw.
The pregrafted-based PEX POLIDAN® must be added to a type of Padanaplast catalyst masterbatch in the ratio 95:5 by weight. Mixing must be done just before extrusion or possibly during the extrusion with automatic feeders. We suggest the following conditions:

 Screw design  barrier screw 
 L/D  25-30 
 Compression Rate  2.5:1

 

 


 

These data are only indicative and depend on the available equipment. It is recommended to use conveyors and shaped tools in order to prevent stagnation in the head. In case of prolonged stop, purge the extruder with HDPE.

HFFR COGEGUM®, HFFR COGEFILL, XLPE POLIDAN®, XLEPR POLIDIEMME® are supplied in pellet form. Extrusion process needs standard single screw machinery. Tooling and process conditions can be optimized in order to achieve the best performances both in terms of characteristics and  production throughput. In most cases XLPE Polidan® and XLEPR Polidiemme® can be extruded using standard PVC lines. HFFR Cogegum® and Cogefill, require preferably special equipment; also PVC extruders can be used, with some throughput limitations anyway. Our Customer Technical Service is at your disposal to discuss these aspects and to collaborate with machinery and tools to optimise your equipment.

Crosslinkable materials must be added with the proper Catalyst Masterbatch just before extrusion; blending can be made in a tank by batch or using a volumetric doser directly in the hopper. Catalyst Masterbatch dosage depends on the product; more detailed informations are reported in the Technical Data Sheets. Since their sensitivity to moisture, crosslinkable material must be stored in unbroken and sealed bags; open bags must be used within a short time depending on ambient conditions.
